    Default New Jersey law??

If one were to file for a non-resident CCW authorization in New Jersey, and was denied that right, would one be able to sue Trenton if he was the victim of a violent attack in New Jersey? If that is possible should then all Pennsylvanians apply for a non-resident CCW in NJ?

Sorry, don't think that is possible. The last time that was tried the ruling by the court was the government has no obligation to provide you with personal protection. You take your chances in Jersey.

This is the part that ALWAYS bugged me -- they limit and restrict your ability to protect yourself but refuse to assume responsibility to perform that duty ... doesn't sound very just or fair.

On the plus side, if you do get robbed, that will bring you one step closer to getting your NJ permit. Think of it as an unwritten requirement. Just like Maryland.

That would not even help get a NJ permit. They do not allow us serfs to defend ourselves. Only the privileged few are worthy of defending their own precious lives. This is why many refer to NJ, MD, etc. as PRNJ, PRMD (Peoples Republic of ...) and not part of the REAL United States of America. I am certainly glad I almost never have to go to these places, but I occasionally unwillingly get dragged there unarmed, kicking and screaming(only in my head) the entire time.
If it was up to me, I would stay in PA, and only occasionally go to the beach in DE, where it is legal for me to defend myself or to the other parts of the real U.S. that recognize the 2nd Amendment and my LTC/CWL's.

Oh, if it were only possible!
While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

I think you could maybe sue for the permit itself, not damages, since the state's employees didn't actually attack you. It would put egg all over their faces and whole permit system, they may give the permit in hopes you go away and don't blow it up into a media circus.
Then again I was told by an attorney that several people who had actually been shot at were denied. So who really knows, but politicians will do anything to save face.

Great minds think alike. I was discussing this very thing with my wife the other day in MD.

Sadly tho, I think we came to the conclusion the judge would just laugh and throw the case out.
