    Default Spring Fatigue

I searched the forum and couldn't find a specific thing with spring fatigue. Now, I see everyone on hear always carries like 10+1. I was under the assumption it would ruin the springs, same thing with storage. I always end up carry my 9mm XD SC with the 10 round mag. So I have 1 in the tube and 9 in the mag. SOme people say that it does't affect the spring, what is the truth behind spring fatigue?

If a compression spring is designed and manufactured properly it shouldn't fatigue unless it has excessive cyclic loading. Not likely in a firearm application.

You can calculate it if you'd like

springs weaken form the cycling of the spring during use, not from remaining static either loaded or empty.
