i noticed on brownells site that some of the colt parts are non-standard. (rear takedown pin & pivot pin)
though adapters are readily available (sleeves and such).
check it out.

don't think you can go wrong with either. my m&p left me plenty of extra cash for mags and ammo, my #1 priority at this point.
optics, lights and the rest will always be available. ban or no ban.
That's not quite correct. The new Colt's (6920, 6940 etc) use standard sized takedown pins. The fire control pins are the 0.170' size on all but the 6940 but Colt is phasing that out too on the newest production guns. Bolt groups are standard M16.

Now that's a reasonable price!

i stand corrected. perhaps the brownells video is not as timely as i thought.
however it is still a valid issue with regards to colt ar's of older production runs.
whether any of those are on store shelves is pretty doubtful though.
thanks for the info.

Those pins are for Colt Commercial guns, not Colt Defense guns. The Colt's everyone wants are the Colt Defense guns.
The Commercial Colts are not setup with the features the discerning customer is looking for.
