    False.

Their FCG have larger pins sizes...but virtually every aftermarket trigger is made in that size, too.

SOME commercial Colts had the larger take-down pins. But, there are adapter pins to get around that, too. Colt Defense guns, like the 6920 use standard size takedown pins, and there are no issues putting it on a different lower.

I have cad files from colt lowers made in 93', and these show the same size TD pin holes as my anvil and dpms lowers:

.251 is the exact spec on it, +/- .001, most mfgs make the pin .250, so the correct hole size would be .251

this is why i bought the S&W. plus the price difference.
i noticed on brownells site that some of the colt parts are non-standard. (rear takedown pin & pivot pin)
though adapters are readily available (sleeves and such).
    check it out.

don't think you can go wrong with either. my m&p left me plenty of extra cash for mags and ammo, my #1 priority at this point.
optics, lights and the rest will always be available. ban or no ban.

I'd love a Colt M4, but $1,700 is a crazy price, even in todays market. I'd get the SW and buy some ammo.

one of our CMP-PP shooters at PMSC this Sunday said he picked up a NEW Colt LE6920 (had it with him at the shoot) at ACE in Washington PA for $1290 just the other day.

At that I price I would have bought one too.
