Joining a Club/ Pittsburgh-Tarentum

I hunted and shot varsity smallbore in highschool, but took several years off since. I want to get back into shooting. For the past month or so, I've been going to the State Gamelands (near Johnstown, and a couple of times to the one in Wexford). The drive is a little too much, so I'd like to join a club near to where I live.

The problem is that most clubs require a member to sponsor candidates. I don't really know anyone else in my area that is a member of any local clubs.
My question: what should I do? How can I meet people in my area that are members?

Sorry for the weird question but any helpful responses will be appreciated.

I'm a member of http://logansferry.com and West Deer Sportsmen's and can sponsor you at either club.

Logans Ferry is in Plum Boro and West Deer is in West Deer Township. Both have very liberal policies in what they allow you to do. Both are class 3 friendly.

Logans Ferry has a very odd policy of closing down the ranges during hunting season so members can hunt on the property (except on Sunday's and for scheduled events).
