Default Leatherman Core - Great Waranty

I have a Leatherman Core that i found in the road one day when it was snowing. (it always helps to have a eye out) Anyway when i got home i realized the blade was broken off. I sent it back to Leatherman and i received a brand spanking new leatherman in the mail yesterday. These people have wonderful LIFETIME warranty service

    It's not actually a lifetime warranty, but a 25 year warranty: http://www.leatherman.com/customer-s.../warranty.aspx

It is nice to hear they back their product though. Did you have to give any back story as to what happened to it for the warranty?

I've been looking at various multitools recently, but have been leaning towards SOG.

SOG or Gerber. The dude who owns Leatherman is a big anti-gunner. Just something to keep in mind.

    OH NOES!!!!!!!

    Sorry Bro. leatherman rules.

I do like sog tools, but the knives suck and they are bulky. My SOG stays on my tool belt.

I'd never buy a gerber tool. I'd take a free one (and have) but I usually just give them to people I don't like too much.

I've never really been that impressed by the Leatherman's I have used. Yeah they're nice, but I much prefer my Schrade multitool. SOG's powerlever chassis is really nice and my Gerber is my favorite because of the easy access to the pliers. If I had to choose one it would be a close call between the Schrade and the Gerber. Leatherman pioneered the field of multitools but I prefer what the other companies are offering these days.

Not worth the trouble. I break Leathermans and Gerbers. I know I should keep it just in case and not use it, but it's the same reason there is no pint of whiskey in my BOB from the other thread
