With the other inaccuracies, I have don't have a great degree of trust when tehy say teh MG is illegal. there are many wasy for it to be legal. Since it is WWI vintage, hence the refe to the age, it Could have been legally returned as a war trophy, when the 1934 NFA went in to effect, legally stamped, and byt the time the regitrar was closed in 1986, had many oportunites to be legally registered, if not initially, durring one of the amnisty periods. With all the ways it could be legal, including demilled, that was my reference to it's age, the fact that it was here so long, and appears to be a display piece, I'd be more surprised if it was illegal than not. Th article got so much WRONG, it's hard to put faith in anything else.
