They certainly did not advertise very well if they don't have enough members. I live in Spring Mount and that does not sound very far away.

I believe that was the old "Twin S" range.
I belonged years ago.

Re: wings and water shooting range
I was there last year. Nice place.. they had a heavy log roof overhang to prevent firing over the berm that I found to be distracting and annoying, but I understand that it's necessary with the way lawsuits are going these days.
AFAIK, it's a pay as you go place. $20 per visit.

Re: wings and water shooting range
This whole thread is pissing me off. Another range closing that lots of people knew about that I didn't know about. I refuse to believe that I am the only person in the world that did not know about them. And that with all these message boards the word is not put out about the range until AFTER the close.

Re: wings and water shooting range
i think its close to 60 years. thats what the owner told me last year. they were supposed to be shut down due to houses being built near the range, but the liberals could make them close because the range was grandfathered. now some billionaire bought it and this is whats its come to. i saved up money for the last several years and bought a couple .50's now i dont have a place to shoot them within 3.5 hours drive. this pisses me off, i had plans to build a twin 50 and possibly a quad 50. i guess the liberals got what they wanted.something has to be done about the rate of range closings in pa, and throughout the us..

Re: wings and water shooting range
I know this is old but I was just reminiscing about this place and googled it and sure enough this PAFOA thread was the first result.
I was a deep souther going to school at Lehigh University and a friend told me about this little gem my Junior year. I would make the windy backroad drive many a Saturday/Sunday to the place, sometimes by myself sometimes w/ a friend or two that had never shot a gun before. Some of the most peaceful memories being the only one there on a crisp fall afternoon... Every time I went there was at most 1 or 2 others there and no RSO breathing down our necks. Loved that you could drive out to setup targets.
Anyone remember what their maximum distance berm was at? I feel like I definitely remember at least 300 yards but I could sware they went out further than that (but that maybe my fond memories clouding my recollection).
I remember one time going out there w/ a friend, maybe the second or third time I'd gone, place was empty, barn wasn't even open to pay. A neighbor from across the street saw us questioning what the hell to do and just said go on in and shoot. Awesome time just doing our thing that afternoon, tacked the money to the barn door before we left.
