Look at my flag, I guess it is self explanatory.

Re: Do you stockpile ammo?
I guess that makes me a stockpiler. I usually have at least 1000 rds for each gun, so some sizes I have in fair numbers. The serious NFA people will have a magnitude beyond this. 10k+ is common with machinegunners.
I just found another 20mm can full of steel core '39 on stripper clips last week. Looks like Search & Destroy will be having a warm summer on the range.
Not concerned about imminent invasion or doom, just sick & tired of the way things were in the 60s and 70s where foreign ammo sizes were either unobtainable or horrendously expensive when found. Example: when the 7.62x54R sniping ammo (7N1) surfaced last year, I bought 6-7 cases even though I only have one SVD. It's meant to last a lifetime, or at least sweeten the pot if I need college edu funds for S&D when they get to college.
Prior to the 7N1, the last case of ammo I bought was in the early 1990s, I'm still going through it.
No, I do something similar. My gun collection is also the "Armory", but more in the Inc./LLC context. Since it's more or less self-sustaining, I sometimes buy small gifts for the wife from "Armory" funds. While it is bribery in the simplest form, it is effective.
Good point, Lyc. I need 22, bad. My kids tear through it like there's no tomorrow.Last edited by PA Rifleman; April 19th, 2008 at 11:06 PM. Reason: Added sound bite [8^)

Re: Do you stockpile ammo?
I tend to have less than 200 for each caliber except 22lr, for which I keep a brick. I need to keep more on hand, but I'm too busy saving for a homeland defense rifle before they get banned.

Re: Do you stockpile ammo?
I have probably 600 rounds of .223, but BMG rounds are too expensive to amass at this time.
I also have maybe 250 of .45.

I could afford to shoot 1 round a day 164 years.
It pays to have a rich uncle that loves guns.
