I have bought defense ammo, and some reloading components but that has been about it. Their reloading equipment is overpriced and can be had must cheaper online.
Yes, I agree...but so is reloading equipment in any store that sells it. Have you seen what places like Gander Mtn. charge for that shit?? They want like, $70 for .45 Auto reloading dies. Absolutely ridiculous.

east coast is pretty decent overall. i will say that I'm not a huge fan of their staff when it comes to browsing guns. Some are very opinionated and are not very knowledgable. But overall the selection is pretty good.

I bought my Kahr PM9 there and was pleased with the price. They have a goof selection and good prices. The staff could be a little nicer though... not many friendly in there.

All I ever did there was a tranfer...I'll agree with the OP on this one..for now. The staff just came off as kind of "snooty", like they had much better things to do than help with the transfer.

I didn't do much price paroozing, but maybe if I go again I will. Just my first experience....your mileage will vary.

On top of snooty, they're snotty. Anywho, Belding and Mull and J&E will match or beat their prices on the items I have wanted in the past. Customer service is important to me and these guys aren't worth the drive, IMO. It is nice to have a greater selection, though (and to fondle the hardware, if you can get their attention).

Okay I just put my first pistol on layaway at ECGS. This is at their new location in Altoona.
Other then one associate blatantly ignoring my father and myself as he was to busy conversing with some other customers about an AR he sold privately. He was not talking with a customer about a potential transaction, he was talking with a friend about a gun he sold privately.
Though once another associate got finished dealing with the customer she was dealing with, she immediately came over to take care of my father and I.
She was very helpful allowing us to handle several different firearms and helping us through their layaway process.

Overall I would do business with them again.

In my opinion and experience with ECGS, customer service is not their forte. In addition, those who feel that ECGS' prices "can't be beat" need to take a short drive north to Belding & Mull, J&E, Bob's A&N, Grice, River Valle Surplus, or Elk Co Ammo & Arms.

Sure, compared to Allegheny Trade or Pioneer the prices on ECGS' inventory may be competitive, but overall there are far better deals to be had at the shops I mentioned above. E.g., Six months ago a SIG P6 with one mag at ECGS was $495. An near-identical P6 with two mags and blue box at Belding & Mull was $350.

I don't waste my time at ECGS anymore, even if I' in the area.
