    Semi-auto, yes. Not a rifle.
About "pistol" calibers...let'em stay. It's the barrel that makes something a rifle, not the cartridge. The UZI, however, hmmmm, kind of a different class - machine pistol/machine gun. Rifled barrel but is it a rifle in the same way as the others on the list?

The 1903 MkI was capable of semi auto :P

But the Pederson device is insanely expensive and rare

True. You are picking a point.
Yes, the Pedersen device enabled the '03 to fire as a semi-auto. I submit to you, though, that that adaptation is not what one normally thinks of when the Springfield rifle is mentioned. There's a world of shooters out there who don't even know what a Pedersen device is. In the context of this discussion of semi-auto rifles for $1000 or less, I would not be surprised if a Pedersen device alone is worth more than that - in addition to finding an '03 that has been adapted to use it, or the .30 cal automatic pistol cartridge (80 grain bullet at 1300fps) that it fired.
The device never reached active service, was rejected by the both the Navy and the Marine Corps. All but 127 of the 65,000 devices were destroyed in April of 1931 along with 60 million rounds of ammo.
