Macys to cut 7,000 jobs
Ouch, another massive layoff planned
http://money.cnn.com//2009/02/02/new...acys/index.htmThe first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.
Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.

Re: Macys to cut 7,000 jobs
I'm hoping it's not finished, but more of a cleansing of sorts. I'm sick of minimum wage workers being allowed to get away with shitty customer service.
I hand every cashier my money and they don't have the courtesy to hand it back, instead they throw it on the counter.
I thank every cashier, I don't know why I just do. Almost never do I get thanked for shopping and making a purchase.
I should not know more than any given "specialist" in any store, I am an ordinary man not a specialist.
A titled idiot such as manager never is proficient at doing their job or I would not have just had to deal with the nose pierced twit at the cash register. I would have fired them by now.
Call a major brand name anything for customer service and what do you get? A foreigner who can't fix your problem. I now just ask for the "head idiot in a cubicle".
As a medium business owner I am appauled by the "corporate model" we continue to support.
I hire well and fire better, everyone expendable.
I always want everone to suceed in life and business but it takes effort and folks like Macy's and especially Home Depot have lost sight of their roots. Alot of execs. need axed and alot of middle management should never have existed in the first place.
A business regardless of size is like a newborn, it should always be on your hip and will need nurtured until death.
Those if any of you whom are amongst the unemployed, keep your chin up and things will turn they always do. Sometimes not as quickly as you hope but it always turns.
BradAnd if you want to race, name the place and I'll show you where it's at mother f@#$&#!

Macy's is cutting off management positions, not really many floor positions.

Anyone who has ever been to a Macy's should have no questions as to why they need to do this. Talk about over priced stuff... Then again, I seriously don't understand how the company I work for can get by without having a big shake down. We have some seriously over paid people hanging around and while sales are declining, we still get announcements from NY that some other asshat is now Senior Area Regional VP of Left (striped) Socks and worth of a another few hundred thousand a year.
