well either he wants to race, or if he stops reving it, it will stall.

see i like that answer.... now most people look at guns like this.... even when pro 2A..

hes got a gun so either hes

    A. a ploice officer/LEO
    B. oh my god... hes carrying a gun...

no i ride and people look at me all the time cuz i was having carb problems on my bike so i needed to rev the engine so i didnt stall out.... people look at me like the straight up craz outlaw biker that does nuthin but 175 and split lanes all the time... ohh cant forget the wheelies....

i mean its the same with anything that someone isnt familiar with.... people are scared of the unknown..... reason i posted is cuz i was carrying in my local supermart and i was getting some crazy looks....... sorry it was oc'ing... anyway i mean i understand that alot of people may not like guns and i respect their feelings towards that... i wont ever force anything onto anyone that they dont want... sometimes i feel that some posts are doing that... people talk about the bad encounters at places tht they have gone before... and some of the posts when they are ocing they het harassed i mean yeah its going to happen but some of you make it seem like your suprised.... yeah if someone doesnt agree with guns they are going to be on edge... and most likely call the police... im just saying that alot of people make assumptoions about others before knowing the whole story.. thats all..

I get where you are coming from, but IMO the folks that want to stick their nose the furthest in anothers business, are the ones that also scream the loudest when it's done to them.

If you come up next to me at a stoplight and start revving your engine, I'm going to take notice.

Then I'm going to look at other body language- are you looking at me? Are you inching up on the stop bar timing the light? If I start answering "yes" to more things in that mental flowchart, I'm going to anticipate that you are looking for that race, or to pass everyone in the line of traffic.

I'm then going to take steps to mitigate the risk of such action. Situational Awareness.

People do it all of the time while driving, and for the most part an unconscious act that comes with experience. They don't think about the daily crashes, or the people who don't maintain their vehicles properly, or that the people who are talking on the cell phone while driving are in the same diminished reaction time as a drunk driver.....

Now how to get that level of comfort in people regarding firearms- education, dialogue, education, positive PR, more education, subtle propaganda, oh and did I mention education? For me, I've found that after Ive been around an anti in whatever setting for a while, I reveal I have a LCTF. I'm not there to change the anti's view, but engage them in a way that changes the perception of the audience. It takes a bit of study on this topic and I'm not as well versed as many on this board. I however know how to talk to people in a convincing manner, and NEVER talk above my limits.

Now if an Amish guy pulled up and started revving up his horse and buggy...I'm not sure what I'd do.

    Wouldn't care...might think he thinks he's being cool, but I don't care.
I'm not going to win a street race (if that's what he wanted) in a Ford Ranger anyway...

its not what i think...its wat I KNOW....

if he wants to race, I dont care WHAT yer drivin...yer gonna lose

otherwise, its possible hes just checking malfunctioing rev level, or something...

I did sort of the same thing when I had a carb leak on carb 4 on my Katana.

found the leak and fixed it.
