    Default Tapco G2 trigger install

Well, i just installed the tapco g2 trigger in my new to me sar-1. I was getting bad trigger slap. It was a pretty easy install. I followed the instructions posted here http://www.tapco.com/html/instructio...structions.pdf. The most difficult part was getting the trigger / hammer pin retaining spring / hook in and out. I think the technical name for it is the Sheppard’s hook. I got it out by using a small slotted screw driver and prying it forward. To get it back in, i wrapped it around the hammer pin then used the same small slotted screw driver to hold it down while i pushed the trigger pin in. All seems to be working fine and the install took me about a 1/2 hour. I wont get to the range until next weekend to report on how well it tamed the trigger slap but from everything i've read, it should be a big improvement.

Just letting you all know that it is an easy upgrade to do at home.

i have them in all my akm's, if they did'nt come with one, i put one in.
the install is a cake walk, and gets even easier the more you do.
i don't even bother putting the tapco hammer in.
    no slap, and smooth release.
makes shooting them accuratily very easy.
you will see and feel a nite and day difference in it.

tho i do preffer the single hooks.

    Cool.
The WASR I picked up at Dunham's a few months ago has a G2 trigger in it.

I don't have a lot of hands-on experience with AKs, so I don't know how much better it is than a standard trigger, but everyone who shot it at the group shoots commented on the nice, light trigger. I like it a lot.
I called to check my ZIP CODE!....DY-NO-MITE!!!

Just wanted to update this thread. Went out shooting today and there is night and day difference. The g2 trigger is a huge improvement. So, anyone still getting trigger slap, get the g2, the install was easy and the improvement was huge. Very nice light crisp trigger pull. It was well worth the money and half hour of time to put it in.
