    Take a look here.

Good bunch of guys over there.
I don't have any experience with the handguns, but I really like the carbines.

If you're really interested in the Hi-Point, by all means get it.
Like others have said, if you're buying it just to replace it in a few months, you won't be saving any cash.

    Best of luck.

    buy it, and keep it.

they're not the prettiest guns in the world, but they work. why get rid of a gun that works? that's counterproductive. as long as it goes >bang< when you pull the trigger, it's a keeper. keep it, save up for a gun you can actually carry comfortably, then keep the HiPoint home, or in your car, or toolbox.

my brother has two, both in .45ACP, and he keeps one at home, and carries one in his bugout bag. be advised, some don't like JHPs, so my brother has to use ball ammo, or Pow'r'Ball ammo.

they're unwieldy, heavy, ugly guns. very ugly. but, who said a Glock was pretty?

I heard they work well. But not at longer distances it will be like shooting a brick. It does do the job like he said. But id go for a used bersa or a Smith an wesson sigma or a XD.

    Good luck

I have had 2 9MM's, a 40 and the 9MM carbine. All have been excellent shooters and reliable as all get out (if 1000's of rounds qualifies as "all get out"). I also have 2 M&P's, XD, EMP. I'd put the HP's up against any of those for pull trigger, go bang.

It fills a market area and does it well. You could do worse. The lifetime warranty and great CS is also a huge plus.

I have the C-9 . Its heavy and ugly but it shoots without a hitch . Like the others said for a $150 you cant beat it. It seems fairly accurate , Im just getting back into shooting after a long time so my shooting skills need refined lol . It might just be the hi capacity mag i picked up for it but it wont feed, the factory one does just fine.

Most of the people who say there crap ( from what i read) never owned one. The local gun shops cant seems to keep them on the shelf and the one owner told me he never hears any complaints about them . Just my 2 cents

Although in another breath someone offered me what i paid for it so im selling it to them :-) , along with my other 9mm ( tz-75 ) and putting the money towards a Springfield 1911 in 9mm .

They're big, heavy, ugly, and they work.

A pistol is simply a tool, and a Pittsburgh from Harbor Freight will do the same job as a Snap-On from the big shiny truck.
"...a REPUBLIC, if you can keep it."

From all that I know, if i needed a gun right here and now and the only gun I could buy was a hi-point i would do it now problem. That being said, if you don't have a very pressing need to buy a gun I would save up for another couple months and get something a little better.
