That is way to close to the Bedford line and Clayscreek for me. I haven't chased mountain moose in a looooooong time, but when I did that was first stop on any given Saturday night.

There are two bars right close together there. Glenn's sits around 35 ~ 40 yards off of old 220. The other bar (Dillie's? Mermaids?) sits right along old 220.

I am not sure which one you are referring to Jmiro.

I have never been in either place. Not sure why since I only live about 5 miles away from them. Just never bothered stopping.

Anyone stopping at either establishment would do well NOT to drink anything but water. The local PD is REALLY getting insane from what I have heard. DUI's are out of control in that area.

The Creekside is approximately 3 miles north. Or you can make a right just past the Creekside on to 36 South. Travel 3/4 of a mile, make a left onto Hock & Vomit Hill and stop at "The Broken Nose". I live about 1 mile from there.

Jmiro? Please don't carry your nerf pistol in there. Not a good idea. In fact it's best not to get out of your vehicle if you're not from the Cove.

Perhaps Altoona would be better. Shorter drive for everyone except me. LOL.

Jack & George's is nice but sometimes loud. The Fishbowl is fun, as is The Hitching Post.

Not sure about the food though, I just drink a beer or two and leave.

Jack & Georges has the best cheese sticks in the world!

Hitching Post is nice because it is usually very quiet, but it is small. Not a lot of seating.

Al's tavern is a nice place also, I perosnally believe they have the best wings in the area. Also right across the street is terry's its a quite little place if you like to talk!

Al's probably has the largest selection of wings I know of. Good food.

Never been to Terry's.

One suggestion though... Make it somewhere easy to find. Some people may not be as familiar with Altoona as you local boys are!
