Re: Erie County Gun Permits - Sheriff Bob Merski
I definitely agree that it is absurd how counties have such different procedures Michele. Here in Perry County, a very rural county, I had to drop off my application with 3 references that live in the county, and come back like 3 weeks later, after the called me, to pick it up. And they actually contacted all of my references, one of which was a personal friend of the sheriff.

Re: Erie County Gun Permits - Sheriff Bob Merski
Unfortunately Dave, you're correct.
I'm still mystified by the whole LTCF/Sheriff/County thing.
If sheriffs DON'T like the fact that O/C is legal here in PA, you would think they would make it "less stressful" for those applying for a C/C license.
I think the problem lies with some sheriffs don't like that fact that law abiding citizens can carry a gun and be licensed to do so. So they express their distress and their disagreement by making the whole process difficult for the citizens. Allot of times when someone is so stressed over something they just give up and say its just not worth all my time and energy. I bet most sheriffs rely on that.
Some folks have to give up their first born, others don't even have to put a quarter in the parking meter.
I dunno......

Sure, and since the Ohio river flows through Pa and into the Mississippi you can carry in any State those rivers flow through. Then the Mississippi dumps into the Gulf of Mexico so you can also carry in Mexico. The Panama canal connects the Atlantic and Pacific so you can also carry in any of the coastal States.
No, you can't carry in Buffalo.
