HB 760 is more than Registration!
I was chatting with a couple folks here last night and one of the things that came out of that was I found out not everyone realizes that House Bill 760 is actually for a lot more than just gun registration. It does away with concealed carry and self defense, and sets things up so only cops and security get to have guns. See an excerpt from the last page (7) of that bill below:
7 (3) Keep any firearm in the registrant's possession
8 unloaded and disassembled or bound by a trigger lock, gun
9 safe or similar device unless the firearm is in the
10 registrant's immediate possession and control while at the
11 registrant's place of residence or business or while being
12 used for lawful recreational purposes within this
13 Commonwealth. This paragraph shall not apply to law
14 enforcement personnel or security personnel while in the
15 course of their employment.
Just a thought on how devious some of our elected leaders can be...

Re: HB 760 is more than Registration!
Personally, i'm not too concerned about this part. Again its in Committee and wont survive. What bugs me about HB760 is that it lays the groundwork for pure confiscation of our firearms. All it takes is for you to go renew your registration and the Police justs says no and takes em.
So i end this mini-rant by saying, Firearms, i own no firearms...

Re: HB 760 is more than Registration!
That's exactly right about the confiscation. The wording of the entire bill is geared toward that, and ensuring that only "proper authorities" can keep guns.
Agreed this bill doesn't have a good chance, but certainly a better chance that it would have had 10 years ago. The problem is if we don't raise hell over stuff like this each and every time it comes up and vote those clowns out of office when given the chance eventually we will lose. As for the smoking bill reference, if you don't believe me, go to any bar or restaurant in Deleware and ask to seated in the smoking section...

Re: HB 760 is more than Registration!
I just wrote a letter to the originator of HB 760. His name is Angel Cruz. His website is http://www.pahouse.com/Cruz/index.asp.
There is a contact link at the top of the web page.
Although I am sure Mr.Cruz's staff will delete most of the comments from PA citizens not in his district, I am also sure his staff will report the quantity of letters and comments against HB 760 to Cruz. I am also confident that, although he may not acknowledge the number of comments, he will acknowledge the number of citizens against his bill (at least to himself and his confidants.
This is important!
If you contact Cruz, please do not use foul language or make threatening comments. Please do not falsify your name, address or other information required. If you want to preserve your rights, you must stand up for your rights. We know the anti's lie and fudge the statistics to further their agenda. That doesn't mean we have to follow suit.
Please use spell check! Even if you are an English teacher, we all makes errors (especially the way I type!).
There you go, Ladies and Gentlemen...

oh this forum isnt for wackos like me that set their arms on fire? dang.
But yea, this bill doesnt have a shot, especially if the DC ban goes to the supreme court and they agree with the current standing that The 2nd Amendment is for the individuals right to bear arms.
