Default Nice Conversation with my Local Mini-Market Midnight Worker.

I stop by the local mini-market every night for my ice tea, and I recently was trying out a new holster that doesn't conceal as well as the others I have.

Well she saw I was carrying, And I noticed "The Look" (you know what I mean) So since she works the midnight shift, out of politeness and wanting her to feel more comfortable I showed her my permit and started chatting about concealed carry, the laws and so forth..

She was very misinformed about alot of things (not surprising) and we talked for a good 30 minutes.. The next week around 3am I stopped by again, and while we were chatting (I have no life) she had a bunch of idiot teenagers come in, and being rowdy. After they got there stuff and left, she told me she feels better when I stop by now that she knows that I carry, and was considering getting her own permit..

I gave her this website, and the basic info on how to get one.. Gave her the number to a good Gun Shop and wished her luck.

I only post this because in the space of 2-3 weeks she went from being a huge anti-gun person to someone thinking about applying for a permit..

A little chat and logic arguments goes a long way!

I wish everyone was so open to the idea. Some people just wont budge on the subject until they are the one playing victim.

See, if you had not been showing, she would have never known, and she would not have been converted. This is one of the best advantages of open carry. I'm not saying anything bad about CC but this is one of my reasons to OC. Great post!!

Well done Morel42, rep on its way. The only suggestion that I would make is that the next time you talk to her make a point of suggesting that she make a point of getting some instruction when she gets her new firearm.

    I'm waiting for whole story.

You know the one that ends where you got a date and banged her like an old screen door.

Actually, in this case, I am not too surprised.

Doesn't the saying go, "There are no atheists in foxholes."?

I have done a stint as Gas Stn attendant/cashier.

I believe, especially considering the night shift, it is considered one of the most dangerous jobs.

Good job. Always nice to get a convert I've been too free with the rep button today so I owe ya.

That, and working the midnight shift at the local mini-market, is enough to convert anyone.

Not to change the subject to religion, but one could easily say an atheist carries a gun because they don't believe there's a god out there to protect them
