Re: Mosin or SKS?
I have about $300 bucks. I am looking at doing it over the internet, but would much rather avoid the hassel and what not and just buy one at a store. My thinking was that I could get a mosin and a lot of ammo or a SKS and just a few boxes of ammo. Also, do you know of anywhere in Lancaster county that I can get a Either of these rifles, also, anywhere I could get an M1 Garand?
Thanks.

Re: Mosin or SKS?
The lowest price I have seen on an M1 are through CMP and they were about $500.
I just piced up a Mosin and have to say it is damn fun to shoot and the ammo is cheaper than my AK and about 1/4 the price of my AR. I'm looking to pick up the SKS eventually, but right now it's not a priority for me.

Re: Mosin or SKS?
Right, My M1 Garand Budget is different from my sks/mosin budget. I would love any leads on a Mosin, SKS, or M1 Garand. Trying to buy locally before I buy from the internet, also want to avoid the shipping fees and transfer fees.

Look for a PA gunshow near you.
The CHICOM the one dealer at Wash Cty had was sweet, as was the Romy another dealer had.
I can't belive that both were around the Yugo prices - as well as being under your $300.00 budget.
They are still out there, maybe just not as cherry as a few years ago.

Check out Ken Crane in Crum Lynn. I would bet he has some SKSs, but don't know about the Mosin.

Re: Mosin or SKS?
Might be a bit of a drive from where you are, but Seneca Arms in Green Lane had atleast 3 Mosins in stock when I was there this past Friday. He's also got a ton of surplus ammo, which is real cheap. I highly recommend the place, the owner, John, is an awesome guy.
EDIT: He also had three SKS rifles if I remember correctly, including a very nice looking Yugo.
