Re: What gun shops do you use?
Piestraks in Nanticoke is a good shop, good prices, Kenny, Crystal and Rich are all good people.
Daves Guns in Sugar Loaf is another good shop, good prices, good gunsmith services too. Dave is a straight shooter...even to strangers...new or used you will get a good deal.
D&Rs in Nanticoke, good place for new firearms with good prices and great selection (if you don't see it don't assume they don't have it). Sammy is a good guy, used gun selection is spotty and sometimes pricey, New gun pricing is very good.
Shawnee guns in Plymouth. Mark is a super guy...sometimes I go just to talk though I usally buy something so he can pay the bills. Decent used selection and always has good prices/good deals if you ask. His cat is cool too.
Shooters Rendevouz in Wapwallopen, an off the beaten path store with OK prices and a pretty good selection. Dave is a good guy and normally has something for everyone.
Nimrod Haven in Hanover, Big selection and big prices too. If you can't find it elsewhere they very well may have it but you'll pay. Occasional good deals but you must be prepared before you come. Home of the "Used Glock Gen 1/2 costs more than the new Glock".
Curts in Nescopeck, priced on the higher side but he has neat stuff, especially surplus, WW II etc.
Advance Arms in Pittston, Chris is a decent guy but prices are definitely on the high side. Good source for AR/AK/SMG stuff if you can't find it (cheaper) elsewhere.
I missed a few but they weren't worth mentioning.Last edited by Holleta; April 21st, 2007 at 08:09 PM. Reason: missed an underline

Re: What gun shops do you use?
i had heard shawnee had closed or was closeing.
i don't like nimrod. i was in his old place. he wouldn't show me a desert eagle. never went back.
i could never find d/n/r.
been meaning to stop into advance arms. go by there every day.
i generally have something laid away at piestracks. i get teased when i don't. i was looking at a couple of paras and a walther yesterday.

Re: What gun shops do you use?
Shawnee has not nor is it closing.
Never been to Piestracks.
Have been to D&R but never bought any guns from them. Their Bloomsburg store used to have a big selection of used guns, don't know it they still do.
I do stop in to Curt's when I'm down that way but haven't bought any guns. He does have lots of guns to look at plus tons of other neat stuff.
I have bought guns from J&S Sporting Goods in WB-TWP, but they only have rifles displayed now. I do buy all my powder, primers and non-surplus bullets from them as well as my hunting and fishing licenses. I know the three brothers that own the shop and they've always treated me great.
I buy the majority of my guns from Gun Toter's up past Dickson City. Mike is a fellow LEO and I've always been treated well there.

Re: What gun shops do you use?
I buy off the gunboards or local wts ads. It is hard to find a deal or anything new in the shops. Sometimes it happens, but not as much as the net.
Sipos - up near freeland in the back of a house, decent prices and pretty good ammo selection, very cool guy
piestracks - good selection and nice place.
curts-never know what you will find in there
bst guns- some good stuff there once in awhile
advanced arms- nice shop, a lot of stuff, I think the owner is EX CIA or something, he is pretty tactical.
nimrod=nimrods, enogh said
shawnee-mark is a good guy, gotta get there soon
dnr- hate it, hate it, hate it, messier than my garage and no people skills
I can go on..........................Last edited by 73cj5; April 27th, 2007 at 12:59 AM.

Re: What gun shops do you use?
Today, went to Dave's near Hazelton +++
Piestracks, always good,
Shawnee in Plymouth, (nice little shop, good guy).
We try to hit every shop in NE and Central PA.
D&R- (Nanticoke) don't waste your time. Too busy to talk to the average Joe.
