Lebanon County LTC question....
Hey everyone. First of all, great site. I've been lurking for a while and decided I finally just needed to join. Great insight in this forum and I am glad to see so many of us that support firearms rights.
Anyway, I finally received my LTC permit from the sheriffs office in Leb. County. The paper permit that they sent me is very large, probably about the size of a postcard if not larger. I was curious if anyone else in leb county has recieved this type of permit and if this just temporary or not. I was expecting a small credit card sized permit that was laminated just as my fathers is from Leb County from a few years back when he applied. I did make some b and w copies. Am I going to be ok in carrying a copy of it in my car and in my wallet?
I guess maybe they just decided to get cheaper or have so many to issue because of the increase of people getting the permit they just are trying to get them out quick, but I could be wrong. Anyway, anyone have any insight?

Doing paper permits to "get them out quicker" doesn't wash. I got a laminated permit in Greene county and the whole process took about 15 to 20 mins. Gotta be to save money.

Re: Lebanon County LTC question....
Did you ask them for a laminated card when you went in to pick up your LTCF? They even take your picture for you if you ask. Of course, it does cost a little extra.

Re: Lebanon County LTC question....
I actually had to wait about 2 weeks till they sent it in the mail. They did take my picture and its on the permit. What they sent me is my actual permit, but on a postcard size piece of paper. I am going to get it laminated but I am almost half tempted to get a scanner and scan it in and reduce the size to wallet size and get that laminated. I just wasnt sure if what they sent me was permanent. I suppose it is, I guess I was just expecting something smaller.

Welcome to the forum.
Yep, that you got is all you're getting. I laminated my own with clean contact paper and just folded it up and put it in with my other permits/licenses. My husband did the same with his.
I am not sure about keeping copies around and those being valid. My instinct tells me no, those would NOT be valid but I'll let someone with more knowledge on that answer for sure.

Yes you can copy it. But do it in color unless the LTCF itself is B&W.
Yes you can scan it and reduce it.
Or you can run it through a color copier and reduce it at the same time.
I don't recall the reduction amount, but I am thinking the copy should be around 75% of the size of the original to be credit card sized. Then you can laminate it.
Presenting a copy is perfectly valid.
Mentioning that it is a copy may not a good idea.
The Shriff's office may provide you with a laminated reduced version for an extra fee.If you don't know who your state legislators are go here:

Re: Lebanon County LTC question....
PS: The sheriff in Lebanon is known to be unfriendly.
SPS: Go apply for a NH non resident permit
http://www.nh.gov/safety/divisions/n...ing/plupr.html
that way you will have
1)A backup in case some prick takes your PA LTCF away
2)Ability to carry in Alabama
3)a valid permit to leave in your car or whereever you like in case you forget your PA LTCF
4)The beginning of a cool new card collection that doesn't smell like bubblegumIf you don't know who your state legislators are go here:

put your zip plus 4 in the box in the upper right hand corner.

Re: Lebanon County LTC question....
It amazes me how the Commonwealth can't get all the counties on the same page with the LTCF.
Mine from York is a credit card sized laminated card, there was one form to fill out, it was $25 & they took my photo at no extra charge. I had it in my wallet 10 minutes after I turned in the form.
I've found that Lancaster has a second form, I've read posts on this forum where people describe paying more than the $25 and some describe having to provide their own photo. I have also seen posts where people describe getting a plastic card not a laminated one. Now I read about this post card sized thing...Why the hell can't PA get their conties on the same page?
In my business, we take the best ideas from each location and combine them to get things done the best, most cost effective, and most efficient way. Now I know we are talking about government agencies here but WOW! They have the system in place to make drivers licenses... HELLO! I'm thinking it should not be that hard to use that equipment (or some modified older DL machines) to print out a uniform LTCF! If they don't/can't install a similar machine in each Sheriff's office then...Sheriff office does the background check, gives you a voucher and you go to the DL center & get your final card. Is this something I should bring up on 2A day in Hbg?
On another note:
I just went to the NH site from the link provided in an earlier post... There it says:
"Concealed handgun licenses issued by the State of New Hampshire to out-of-state residents are ONLY valid within the State of New Hampshire."
To me that says it would not be valid for any of us in Alabama or as a back up in PA for that matter.
Am I missing something or somehow reading this wrong?Let us never forget the sacrifice of those who have fought for us all.

Re: Lebanon County LTC question....
87th, not only is the one you get in Lebanon the size of a postcard it's PAPER. Just regular old PAPER. It's because DeLeo is too cheap to do anything better as far as the licenses. I have heard some horror stories about the equipment his deputies have to use and their vehicles too....
There was some discussion about what is on the NH website or whatever that you posted. It's in another thread. I am sure someone will be able to answer that. I don't think it is as it reads though if I remember correctly. I know there's nothing like that ON the license itself. One complaint I have about the license from NH is that there is no picture or anything on it so if I were to lose it anyone could find it and present it and say they were me. (ok, maybe not these days but in the past they could have...)
