1911 Holster...
Any members carrying a 1911 pistol? If so, what type of holster do you use? Thanks in advance...Mike45

I use both a fobus OWB and a DeSantis High-Ride OWB. I use the DeSantis in the warmer months since it conceals a little better.
I have a full-size Colt Commander by the way.Dan P, Founder & President, Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association

1911 Holsters
Hey its Mark from the gun range - One of the best 1911 Holsters that I have come across is from Garritys Gunleather in Phonix Az. 85071 - P.O. Box 82664 - I think he was a Police Officer in North Hampton Pa. - he may be still in law enforcement still - he used to shoot in Glock matches at Classic Pistol ---- his Holsters are awesome - tanned hides and exotic skins - all are hand-crafted - we try to keep them in stock at Ready Aim Fire - but they fly out the door - when you look at one and pick it hope you are hooked - you can call him and buy them - and his prices are more than fair - it takes some time to get one because he takes great care and pride in his work - His web site is www.garritysgunleather.com -- Phone Number is 602 863- 9575

I have a Garrity, he makes good stuff.
Used to come in person to Archery and Gun Outfitters in Montgomeryville.
I use either a IWB Royal Guard by Galco(I think) or a Desantis fletch high rise OWB.
1911s are easy to carry IWB than out in my opinion, if yer big:-)"Oderint Dum Metuant" - BMFH

Thanks guys for the advise. I am going to look at the Versa-Max II that JasonB mentioned.
DanP, you say a full sized Commander, do you mean a 4 1/4 inch barrel??? That's the one I am trying to holster. Love that Colt...
Also, there is a company in Pennsylvania called Bulman Gunleather and he makes some nice stuff. Look for them at www.bulmangunleather.com

I carry a full sized 1911A1 in .38 super, but normally, only in a shoulder rig. i have a DeSantis crossdraw rig that I use now and then, but for belt carry I usually carry a different gun.
