    Very clever IED.

I can see how the rate of failure is higher due to this type of concealment. When you start getting into physically touching peoples bodies or having them or yourself start lifting up shirts and other articles of clothing, your riding a very thin line...

Americans above all people hate to be touched...

    thanks.
TSA agents make a mock bomb that essentially fits like a tube around one's agent's midsection, and even douse the agent with a chemical that mimics bomb residue. They go to the airport in Tampa and successfully get past security.

The screener who failed to detect the bomb looks all upset, and the TSA shows how screeners should be lifting up peoples' shirts and such to check for bombs. Ends with a sheeple-ish reporter blathering about the TSA's making us "safer".

I believe the term we use here is "security theater". And another good reason to drive instead of fly...
Safety is a good tool for tyrants; no one can be against safety.
