Purchased a semi-auto shotgun, Remington Model 1100 Tactical
I bought a semi-automatic 7 round 12 gauge shotgun, yeap semi auto, no pumping, fires all 7 rounds as quick as you can pull the trigger. I'm eager to try it out at the range this weekend. Does anyone own the same model Remington? This will be intended for home defense.

Jeez, only 7 rounds? Not 10+1 with box mags?
Nice gun.Safety is a good tool for tyrants; no one can be against safety.

Have had one for several years. You will love it, soft and fast. Everything from clays to 3 gun. ENJOY

Re: Purchased a semi-auto shotgun, Remington Model 1100 Tactical
Had one w/o the pistol-grip and tube extension, but same gun. First thing you need to know about 1100's is, "KEEP IT CLEAN". After a few hundred rounds, the gas ports will clog and it won't cycle. Always break it down after a shooting session, don't put it off. It's important to keep the O-rings clean and lightly oiled. It would be a good idea to go to ebay and find the O-ring replacement paks of 5 or 6 for about $5. Mine had a problem shooting the Winchester AA val-pak ammo. Jammed alot. No problem with the Federal Val-paks though. Reloaded shells also will give you problems, stay away from them too. Nice gun and good shooting!

Re: Purchased a semi-auto shotgun, Remington Model 1100 Tactical
I have one almost exactly like that, my barrel is 21" with rifle sights and my speed feed stock is the model without the shell carrier.
Excellent guns, it will serve you well.
Keep it clean, but dont worry about it jamming up in 100 rounds. I have fired 200 trouble free trap loads from a 1100 in one day with zero problems.
Thing to remember is to remove the forearm and give the mag tube a quick shot of lube every once in a while....where the piston rides the mag tube. It will keep it running!
When you got free time in the evening after the action is over, take it down and clean and lube it. The piston assy should ride the mag tube silky smooth and a pipe cleaner will clean the gas ports in the barrel. They run much better than some folks give credit. I have seen some rather filthy abused 1100's run like a champ.
Another thing to keep in mind... the more gas you send down the barrel the better they run. A 1100 will run longer with turkey loads and buckshot than it will with light skeet/trap loads. Tactical loads will work the action even when dirty.

I don't have that model of 1100 but do have others. As has been said keep it clean and it will work for ever. I shoot reloads in mine but I only use Clays powder because it's very clean burning. Midway has the O rings sometimes and if you ever see them, get some. You will need them. You said it holds 7. What size, 2 3/4, 3, or 3 1/2?
It's nice.
