I checked everything except employment and it came back "self defense". That was Feb of 09 from Centre Co. Those are some very pleasant folks at that office btw

My application also had "Gun Collecting" on the list in addition to what was already mentioned in this thread. I checked every item on the list (including "Self Defense") and it came back "Hunting".

I have always put down self defense per the sheriffs instructions. You may have an issue if your permit says "hunting" and you're in the mall on a Sunday.

You also may have an issue in states with reciprocity. Some states have laws that restrict vehicle carry unless the purpose of your "permit" is defense.

That's kinda strange for the sheriff's office to put hunting, especially when you checked all the items.
