They make a site mount that mounts using the front site screw holes and doesn't require any drilling into the rifle itself. Can be found here.

Agreed. I see no problem with resurrecting an old thread if the info provided is pertinent and useful.
I'm more of an iron sights kinda guy when it comes to lever guns, but if I were to put a scope on one of my Henry's I'd probably install a Primary Arms 6X .22lr ACSS scope.
