Re: US troops in Iraq get to drink beer for Super Bowl
I saw on the news that the US is the only ones with this rule . England and our other allies allow their soldiers to drink over there .
Don't blame me ; I voted for an American .

Re: US troops in Iraq get to drink beer for Super Bowl
After living in a strict Muslim country for a while, I think the rule is good. When you are a "visitor" in some one else's country, it is good to be respectful. I know the situation is different when it is a military presence, but it is still something that can be great for our image. Even though a HUGE amount of Muslim men drink, I think it is cool to be able to say that we are respecting their religion when in their country. It just encourages positive interaction with the locals.
And thats pretty cool that they get to drink for the Super Bowl. It reminds me of that scene from Shawshank Redemption, where the prisoners get to drink beer on the roof that they are tarring. There are just certain activities that you can't take part in without a beer in hand.
