Our yellow lab

We had to put our yellow lab to sleep today because of multiple organ system failure. We got her just before my 16th birthday 9 years ago. Its been a really rough day for the family as she meant a lot to all of us. Especially my mom. Sophie (our lab) wasnt the greatest watch dog when it came to protecting our house and the things in it, but she was vicious in her defense of her family. A man tried to break into our house in Bethlehem 4 years ago when my mom was home alone and she let Sophie loose on him. I dont think they ever caught the guy but with the amount of his blood he left behind from a gaping wound in his backside, I dont think he had to worry anybody for a while. So heres to Sophie.

I feel your loss. Labs are something special. We put our black male down at 6 years with bone cancer in his facial bones and his sister two years later with kidney failure.

Man, I'm really sorry to hear of your loss.

I've been through it twice in my adult life, and it's horrible, any way you look at it. Hang in there.

It is never easy losing a 4 legged family member, especially a Yellow Lab. There is something special about the breed and the Yellow ones..... they are magic.

sorry to hear about your loss its always sad to put ur best friend down i am prolly going to be doing that soon with my aunts black lab he is 14 and has arthritis and is starting to go blind and death but luckily been living with the boyfriend and he has a 2 yr old yellow lab. she isnt the smartest but boy is she loveable and all she wants to do is kiss ya
