Does this sound right?

I called the gun permit unit today and was told any LTC issued before May 2006 don't have to pay the $6.00 I'm issued 3-13-2006 and was told I don't need to pay $6.00(I was told by the gun permit unit on Spring Garden) I want to make sure I'm not being given wrong information and get screwed later,anybody else get told this?

May 2006 is when the law changed, allowing the increased fee. While I don't agree with the retro-collection that's going on, I think they'd be in pretty serious trouble if they tried to collect the higher fee from a time before the fee was legally raised. The fee is mandated by statute, so in that regard, they must be careful.
