Revolver Problems

I have an older Dan Wesson 15V in .357, as of late it has unlocking after firing a round. In double action it will lock and take several pulls of the trigger until it works, it also has light primer stikes in double action. The cylinder locks up and rotates.

Any hints, tips?

Find a warranty station or one of the better 'smiths. In PA, I would lookup Jim Garthwaite. You could also look up Wayne Novak in WV.

I took the DW to Jim, he gave it a clean bill of health with test firing. Got it back and had the same problem. He did a fantastic trigger job on my Colt Defender though.

I ended up taking the lock apart, and adjusted the spring compression on the bearing that locks up the rear of the cylinder and it corrected the problem. What was causing the problem was that under recoil the extractor and cylinder would be driven back against the frame. On occasion an empty case would slip under the extractor.
