Default HK usp custom combat .45 value question

I have a question regarding the value of this gun. A guy wants to trade me the gun for a pinball machine and I have NO idea what its worth. Its NIB HK usp custom combat in desert tan. Supposidly never fired. He said its a very limited edition 2004 model. He wants a grand for it. It does have a fiber optic front sight on it. Only one magazine. I don't want the gun it would be a partial trade, I'm more interested in making sure I could get my money back out of it. What do you think?

Here's what the Blue Book of Gun Values has to say about the USP 45:

USP 45, .45 cal, similiar to USP 9; 9 variants of DA/SA/DAO; 10 (C/B 1994), 12 (new late 2004) or 13 shot magazine. 27 3/4 oz. New 1995 A desert tan or green finish became available during 2005 at no extra charge (includes matching nylon carrying case)
    MSRP - $919
    Condition/price: 100% - $785, 98% - $650, 95% - $550

That said, and in these times the selling prices will probably be a bit higher. If you are taking it in trade to then sell it to get the cash, you MAY get $1000 for it (if you put it on an auction site or find someone that really wants it). In my opinion $1000 is a bit high.

+1 to xring's post. If you don't want the gun let him sell it and give you the cash or something. Why should you do the legwork unless he is willing to undervalue the gun and make up for it with cash.

Thank you. I had checked gun broker and saw a couple unsold ones for almost 2k for the pair. But they didn't sell. I figured his price was to high. I actually did tell him if its worth that much to sell it and bring me cash, but in the meantime I would do some research and get back to him. I will be passing on this one.

strongly encourage having HIM sell it, not you. If its worth 1K (haha yeah right) then he can get the money and give it to you.

I don't think there is any chance you'll get over 1k for it. I think you would be lucky to get over 750 for it. and thats before S&H. Plus someone has to pay the transfer fee
The first vehicles normally on the scene of a crime are ambulances and police cruisers. If you are armed you have a chance to decide who gets transported in which vehicle, if you are not armed then that decision is made for you.

Be prepared, because someone else already is and no one knows their intent except them.
