Default Wal-Mart running low on ammo?

Anyone notice the local wally-world ammo shelves are a bit bare? I picked up a few boxes of 9mm wwb and she had to dig pretty deep to get them. The front counter had some odd riffle calibers left.

Their stock seems to go up and down. A few weeks ago they were down to one 100 round box of WWB 45ACP and two 100 round boxes of 9mm WWB. But just this week I went in and they had tons of each.

I've noticed this as long as I've been buying WWB at WallyWorld. Sometimes they have lots, then somebody like me goes in and buys 10+ boxes and then they have very little.

Wal Mart in Trexler was pretty bare today. No .38 Special at all, and only a little 9mm, .45, and .40. The guy working the counter told me they are having trouble getting their orders filled.

Cabela's had a few boxes of Fiochi 7.62X39 for 11.99/20 rounds, still plenty of .223/5.56. Pistol ammo is getting more and more bare every time I go, but they still have something in all the major calibres. The mags were totally ransacked, and only a lone G22 mag ($30)remained for Glocks. Only 2 ARs, though, no AKs, SKSs, etc.

Eagle Arms was out of .38 special, but had some 9mm, .40, .45, .357, etc. Only 4 boxes of Wolf 7.62X39 which are now gone Plenty of .223/5.56 and AR mags. They had a couple of G17 and G19 mags for $30 each. 1 Galil for $699, some overpriced SKSs, and 1 or 2 stripped lowers (sorry, didn't get a price). No Aks. He did tell me he bought and sold a Norinco SKS today within minutes. He bought it, and the next guy in line asked how much he would sell it for. They also said they are having trouble getting things, but nothing sits on the shelf anymore. As soon as they get it, it's gone.

Army/Navy had a load of Golden Tiger 7.62X39 (Yes!), and plenty of ammo in other calibres. They still have an AR, 3 FALs, an overpriced SKS, and an SAR. But the shelves were bare. He had very few handguns, and less of the usual rifles and shotguns than he usually does.

Don't sweat it, kids. Could be a couple reasons. Inbound freight shipments are a little screwy when you have back-to-back holiday weeks and also it's inventory season at retail. The lighter the shelves , the easier the counting. Give it a week or so that they can get their profit "snapshot" and the stock levels should start to improve. Especially on items that are "essentials" like ammo.

Just seemed strange the level of bare shelves. The last few weeks I went in there, it seemed like they had to find the cabinet key and dust it off before they unlocked it. This week, the cabinets were picked clean.

Seems like it was just a timing issue on my part. I usually go on a Monday not a Friday.

The store in Latrobe had very little handgun ammo today.
