    Default Reseating live primers?

Long story short , I bought some known reloads off a buddy and there were signs of over pressure. I pulled them apart and punched out the primers (still live). Can I safely reuse the primers? If not what is the best way to deactivate them?

I wouldn't reuse them. I would empty the bullet and powder and expend the primers by shooting them

I would not. The anvils are likely damaged from depriming

Make sure you don't have any powder or primers close by.
    WHERE SAFTY GLASSES.
    I wouldn't use them over.
Why did you punch them out?

Don’t reuse the primers. Deactivate with WD-40 or Kerosene, throw them in a stream or lake afterwards.

SHEPARD321, I punched them out because I am new at this and thought I might be able to reuse them. I'm glad I asked before going any further.

To the rest, thank you for the responses, I will destroy them ASAP to prevent any mistakes.

    Thanks.

I would have pulled the bullets, dumped the powder and reused the primed cases with a proper powder charge. I've reused hundreds of primed cases after pulling bullets without resizing and I've had no problems with any of them.
There are three kinds of people in this world....them what's good at math and them what ain't.

How many primers are we talking here?

If a small amount, put in normal trash. They will wind up buried under tons of other trash in the local landfill. Seriously doubt they would go off while in the garbage truck.

If you only have a few to dispose of you could wear safety glasses & ear plugs and whack 'em with a hammer ONE AT A TIME.
That'll make them as inert as they can be.
If you have a shitload of them, (or even half of a shitload) DO NOT put them all together in a single container like a bag, box, cup or other such container. If you have the misfortune of something setting one off, they could all go off at once, and more than just a few wouldn't be a pleasant experience, in fact it could be downright disastrous.
Put them in a cup of water or oil to be safe with more than just a few.

I don't have a short temper, I just have a quick reaction to bullshit.

Oil does not always deactivate them. Bury 'em.
