Default York City Council Police Committee Meeting

As a law abiding gun owner I would very much like for the members of York City Council Police Committee to start with targeting CRIME and not 'guns'. Their upcomming meeting they will be voting on an ILLEGAL ordinance for lost or stolen guns. Seriously....has the York City Police suddenly experienced a HUGE number of unreported lost or stolen guns?
OK....on the surface it appears to be a pretty harmless law. If you discover your firearm lost or stolen....you must report it. Hey...I would IMMEDIATLY report one of my firearms lost or stolen. I just think this is a silly and time consuming proposal for the Police Department. Another way to lump regulations and BS onto those of us who choose to be firearm owners.

I encourage all lawful gun owners to attend.
Let's take a stand and show up in numbers to fight this.

If the oppurtunity would present itself, Ask one of my favorite questions.
How many of the assailants or victims of shootings in the City of York, are
on Parole/Probation, from the State or County, or have criminal records for
violent crimes. Like to know if they really "know" the root cause. Might be
a little off topic but you would think they might take a look at keeping the
offenders in Jail/Prison, Not the victim of said theft or loss of a firearm.

York City Council's Legislative sessions are held at 7:00 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month, in Council Chambers, 1 Marketway West, 3rd Floor, York, PA, except when such Tuesday is a legal holiday observed by the City Goverment, summer recess, or when the general and/or primary elections fall on such Tuesday, then the regular meeting will be held on the following day or on such other day as the Council shall designate.

Wouldn't you have to be a resident of the city for your opinion to matter to them?

I don't think one would need to show ID to attend & excercise their 1A right. The more the merrier! If the place is packed with people opposing the passage they might get it through their heads that it may not be the right avenue to take.

Some municipalities require that you notify them ahead of time if you intend to speak at the meeting, others just have those who wish to speak sign in or come forward when prompted to give their comments.

Someone may want to confirm York's policy, so those who wish to speak can take advantage of the opportunity.
