Federal Distributor Status?
FYI: received this email from Tactical Defense Solutions this morning...
Some news............
Were heading to S.H.O.T this year (we have no choice) to try to find new distributors who can supply what we need. I have a meeting with Federal reps over the new policy that threatens to cut everyone out of the ammo - Federal refuses to ship HST, HydraShok, Gold Dot 50 round boxes, even Speer Lawman hardball to distributors and dealers.
In order to buy this ammo a department P.O. has to go directly to Federal and they will ship to the department.
The top volume distributor in the US has multiple millions in this ammo stuck on the shelf afraid to ship for fear of loosing their Federal distributor status.
If this stands, there will be none of this ammo available to individual officers and definitely not law abiding citizens. Between this ignorance and Winchesters ridiculous production schedules, '09 looks like its going to be fun.
Now the good news - till the 31st at Midnight enter the code "SAVE" and take 10% off your order (what little there is in stock).
Well aside from wishing you all "Good Luck" in the year to come, I guess that's it.Last edited by rev214; December 28th, 2008 at 09:54 AM. Reason: link

Re: Federal Distributor Status?
Federal HST's seem to be "sold out" at most online sellers. I might need to find a new round.

The top volume distributor in the US has multiple millions in this ammo stuck on the shelf afraid to ship for fear of loosing their Federal distributor status.
- Scenario 1, they warehouse the ammo indefinably preserving their relationship with Federal but stop selling Federal ammo, thus no revenue...
- Scenario 2, they sell the existing Federal ammo stock and lose their distributor status, but gain a profit.
Either way they won't be selling Federal ammunition.
I'd drop Federal in a New York second if they even suggested such a move.Gloria: "65 percent of the people murdered in the last 10 years were killed by hand guns"

Re: Federal Distributor Status?
Sounds like a marketing ploy.... IE: BULLSHIT
As someone "in the biz" I have not heard of this crazy notion of Federal stopping sales to <ahem"> civilian markets.
Unless independently verified I call BS and would avoid this seller (that sent you the email) like the plague._________________________________________
