Shooting in PA
My parent lives in PA and is purchasing a pistol in the next few weeks. While I'm in PA visiting am I legally allowed to shoot this pistol if I'm with my parent? What about on my own at a public range? Thanks.

Re: Shooting in PA
Based on the answers you gave:
Yes.
IMO, this is a gray area. First of all, you are permitted to take an unloaded firearm directly to and directly from a range in a vehicle even if you are not licensed. But...Pa. firearm owners are not permitted to loan/lend their firearms (for target shooting/recreational puposes) to a non-minor who is not licensed.
However, "transfers" between spouses, parents/grandparents, children/grandchildren are not regulated, as long as the parties involved are not prohibited from owning/possessing firearms. Typically, "transfer" is seen as a permanent change in ownership...as in a parent passing a gun on to a child...not letting them borrow it for a few hours do get in some plinking.Get your "Guns Save Lives" stickers today! What if I were to get my FL non resident CCW that is valid in PA would this change anything? Thanks for the previous response.

Re: Shooting in PA
Absolutely. If you had a FL non-resident permit, you could definitely "borrow" the firearm. You could also load it before you left, carry it concealed on your person to and from the range, and make any other stops before and/or after your visit to the range. This would definitely make things much simpler for you and expand your options.

Re: Shooting in PA
Ricky, where in N.Y. are you from? I am from Delaware county originally. Glad I made the move to Pennsy though. N.Y. is not very gun friendly.
