Shooting/Range gloves?
Anyone recommend a pair for these cold weather months? The only range I actually pay for is out doors and my friends personal ranges are also out doors. I remember last winter being my first cold season range trip, and my fingers were frozen to the bone. Shooting magnum rounds to add insult to injury.
I'm going to check out a local "premium outlet" complex tommorow after work and try to pick up something.

I'm a big fan of Bob Allen shotgunners. They fit very closely, enough to allow for mittens over them if necessary. I've been wearing mine for cold weather IDPA matches.

Re: Shooting/Range gloves?
The monthly group shoot out here is held year round, also outdoors, so last fall I went on a shooting glove buying spree.
I bought quite a few different brands and styles of gloves, but the only gloves that I found that I was comfortable with leaving on while actually shooting and manipulating my handguns, are the Hatch Specialist All–Weather Neoprene gloves. They aren't really made for super cold weather, but they're the only gloves that I don't find myself taking off every now and then to do things.
Now, if it's super cold outside, then I would also suggest the Hatch Mitten Re-Trak. Yeah, they're mittens, but they're warm and they allow you to fold back the top half so you're fingertips are exposed. I tend to wear them when shooting rifles or shotguns, but not so much with handguns.I declare to you that woman must not depend upon the protection of man, but must be taught to protect herself, and there I take my stand. -- Susan B. Re: Shooting/Range gloves?
I always wear some "medium" thickness gloves. I don't really care what they're like as long as they don't get in the way of me pulling the trigger. I think will cut a slit in the trigger finger so that I can actually feel the trigger. Shooting with gloves is tricky and takes alot of practice. They do make gloves that are like mittens so you can keep the fingers covered, and then only the trigger finger is a bit short, so that when you uncover the fingers the hands are still protected but you have access to the trigger. It doesn't get quite as cold here, so heavy gloves aren't as big of a worry.

I wear "mechanix" gloves, I find they work best for me. On really cold days I will put latex gloves underneath, keeps the cold from blowing through what material isn't leather on them.

Re: Shooting/Range gloves?
I was using the Mechanix brand gloves for the longest time, but I have become quite the Under Armour collector so to speak, and swear by their product. While most feel their product is pricey, the stuff works. I along with most all of the Fire, EMS, Rescue, and Police professionals I am friends with absolutely swear by their product. I have been using the Under Armour Cold Gear gloves lately, and they are great. They have several different styles of gloves out for sale. Take a look at them, might be what your looking for.

Re: Shooting/Range gloves?
Be careful with the Under Armour and similar products in general (not sure about their gloves). If you are exerting yourself and sweating, their product works well, if you are pretty much just target shooting and not moving around much, those types of products will actually make you colder.

I wear a pair of Hatch gloves. You can find a ton of different ones at any police supply store or check online catalogs at Galls or Quartermaster. I am sure you can find something comparable that is NOT a "police" glove. Many of the gloves have kevlar liners to prevent needle sticks, and some have blood born pathogen barriers. I don't think those are two qualities that you are looking for and would add undue expense.

Those cheap brown jersey work gloves work for me. Cut the fingers off of the appropriate one and put a hand warmer in your coat pocket.
