Default Old School Winchester 1894 Built in 1900 Cody Letter Pics!!!

I know we see a lot of new, cool and tactical weapons around here but I thought I would take us back in time when men were men and women couldnt vote. (just kiddin)

This is a great old Winchester 1894 built in 1900. It is just a honest workhorse....... There is just something special about a old Winchester that just speaks to the soul. I just wish these guns came with diaries.

Thank you sir, I forget how much the letter was..... If you call the Cody Museum or go to their web site you can get the info. It is worth the money. You find out cool stuff. My serial # is actually from 1897 but didn't get warehoused until 1900.

Thanks for the wonderful pics and the the history lesson!!

There is something very special about a lever-gun with an octagonal barrel.

    You got to love 'em!

    Stay well.

Thank you sir, there is something special about these old Winchesters. I can never put my finger on just what it is but it is there none the less. Same thing happens when I handle a Model 21 or a really nice pre 64 Model 70.

Thank you sir. The 94's are a great rifle and are part of Americana.

The Winchester 94 is one of the sweetest handling rifles ever made. That one is a beauty!
I would be careful with smokeless powder (modern) loads in that gun, if you plan to shoot it. Nothing too hot, but velocities under 2,000fps should be alright. I'd stick to lead bullets.

Thank you for the great info. I have never shot this one because of it age, in part because I wasn't sure what the best load would be on a 108 year old rifle. For me this gun has such great heritage and pedigree, it is a part of Americana. Being a Colt guy also, Winchesters are a great fit for me. The 1894 seem to be much heavier than the 94's. I was looking at a shorty from the 40's that is priced very well. My focus has been on trying to herd up as many NOBAMA guns of late.
