where to shoot in carlisle???

Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of where to shoot (range for pistols, tactical shotgun, and AR's --- my 3 gun setup) near Carlisle.

I just moved here for law school and am going through withdraw from not being able to be outside due to the workload.

There is a state game lands shooting range in Carlisle Spings - off of RT 34 near where it hits 944. At the bottom of the page on link there is a direction box. Pretty easy to find. I just was there the other day.

Game Land ranges have a limit of 3 rounds in the mag (6 on a handgun range), probably not what the OP has in mind. Although it would ensure plenty practice at changing mags.

Also need a hunting license or range permit.

+1 to that. You will need to go on the PA SGL website and purchase the range permit and or get a hunting license for PA.

Also while not stationed with a ranger some do ride around and check on the ranges every so often. I do not recommend doing any tactical moves while at these ranges as I do believe it is posted that it isn't allowed.

If I am not mistaken shotguns are a no no at these ranges.

More expensive then the SGL, but you can have a full mag and use shotguns.
