Default Pittsburgh Police Open Carry: Good Experience

My son's car lost an axle in Hazelwood. I went over to wait for the tow truck with him. I was open carrying.

Pittsburgh Police showed up. Two officers. They never said a word to me about the gun.

Maybe word is out that OC is legal in Pittsburgh?

I've had many interactions with City officers and I've never had a bad experience. I did have one uneducated officer who at first told me to cover, but after a little research on his own, and a 15 minute conversation with him later, he agreed that OC was legal, and he apologized for asking me to cover.

Problems with city officers seem to be the exception, rather then the rule.

I too have had positive experiences with Pittsburgh PD, pretty much all around. Once I was CC but took my jacket off to wash my hands in the restroom of an Eat N' Park. An officer just happened to walk in about that moment, with me standing with my holstered Glock in plain view. He clearly noticed but just said "stay safe" and walked out.

Wow, an apology? That's pretty cool

And even more amazing the ability to admit he didn't know everything. Most times they will try and find other reasons to hassle you, like the OC guy in Wisconsin.
