Toftrees Conference Center

(814) 234-8000Well, being local and all I guess I will look into this and see if the public is welcome.
__________
16th - 1st meeting covers Waiver Training
2nd session is on In-service Training
3rd group is the Budget Meeting
17th - 1st meeting is the instructors review
2nd course is for school directors
3rd session is for the Executive meeting
18th - Wrap up of the previous 2 days: An overview of all the covered material.
I called Toftrees and the referred me to the 717-346-4086, The MPOETC Commission officials who set up the conference.
The first person I spoke with did not know if the meeting was open to the public. She referred me to Beverly who assured me that it was open to the public. She gave me the above information about the itinerary.
I suspect that we could get further information on times that each start with the same number. I was writing furiously as she spoke but missed the them
She was very helpful.

Re: 2009 MPOETC Mandatory In-Service Training
Well! That took long enough
I finally got all of the MPOTEC materials yesterday.
For those of you interested in ordering all of this, really all you need to request is the DVD - it has PDF's of all the materials, though they aren't laid out very well (and it's missing page 49, which I had to re-create). I've gone through and created concise, individual downloads for each:
So, for those of you who want to see:
The entire MPOTEC update manual: (1.4 MB)
http://www.lildobe.net/PAFOA_Docs/MP...E_2009-201.pdf
Only the OC pages of said manual, a much, MUCH cleaner copy then what PA Patriot has (feel free to copy mine, Rich ) : (167 kB)
http://www.lildobe.net/PAFOA_Docs/MP...pdate_2009.pdf
And for those of you who are interested, the ENTIRE MPOTEC CD/DVD, including all of the power point slides and movies: (514 MB)
http://www.lildobe.net/PAFOA_Docs/MP...pdates_DVD.zip
For those of you wondering, but not willing to download the entire DVD to get all the PowerPoint slides and MPEG files, Yes, SheFearsNothing's case in Lebanon is specifically mentioned, including two of the TV segments about it.
Also, if you read through the text in the OC update pages, Mtn Jack's situation is also covered on page 51:
An officer who observes a person who is engaged in the open carrying of a firearm in the vicinity of a public event attended by the President or other persons under the protection of the Secret Service must consider whether any violation of Pennsylvania law is occurring, If there is not a clear violation of the law, it would be prudent to bring the presence of this person to the attention of the Secret Service who is empowered under various federal statutes to regulate the possession of firearms in the vicinity of persons under Secret Service protection.
(and don't worry about raping my bandwidth - I have unlimited )
BTW:
I strongly recommend that anyone OCing not only read and to the best of their ability memorize the OC update pages, but also PRINT THEM OUT and CARRY THEM WITH YOU.
It has gotten me out of two situations so far (not with officers)... being able to show the actual MPOTEC training documentation carries a LOT more weight then the OC fliers. I still carry those around though, for regular, curious, people.
Also, if you are grilled as to where you got the MPOTEC Training manual (as it is normally not a public document) you should respond that it was received through a Pennsylvania Open Records request to the PSP's Right to Know unit. That sounds a lot better then "uh... I downloaded it from a gun rights website..."Last edited by lildobe; July 25th, 2009 at 11:59 PM.
