I heard back from Blackhawk yesterday and bought the Serpa with the carbon fiber inserts. I doubt that the carbon fiber does anything, but it looks kind of cool.

I got sccrewed by the PA instacheck system last night. I went to GunRunnersofPA's place to pick up the P220 and for him to run the check (he is an FFL). When I walked in, he had the P220R sitting on top of the case. What an awesome gun! Perfect condition. Previously purchased, but never issued, by a PD.

The PA instacheck system was down last night, so I had to leave my baby there. I am going back on Wednesday to try again.

Man, that is just cruel and unusual punishment.

I have not had my Sig 220 for very long, but I have had it long enough for me to become a Sig fan. It is my 4th full size .45, and it will be my last. I don't think I can ever find something better. Now I am trading out my other pistols towards more Sigs. I have yet to handle/fire a finer handgun than a Sig(Any Sig). I am currently waiting(not too patiently I may add) to get my new 226 Custom paid off on lay-away.

Well, I'm all jazzed up again. I am going to try to pick up the P220R again tonight at GunRunnersofPA. I will let you know if it goes through this time!

By the way, if you are buying guns online or from out of state and have them shipped, you should call Todd and have him do the transfer. He is a great guy and charges very little for the service.

    Check out his website: www.gunrunnersofpa.com

I picked up the P220R last night. Wow, what a pistol. I am taking it to the range after work tonight. I will have to get used to the fact that there is not a traditional safety. I cycled it a few times last night and it was freaking me out a little bit. I don't know why, because I own and have carried several revolvers.

I just need to practice and shoot with the new P220 to get that comfort level.

    Range report tomorrow!

I can agree with him. As i said I have a P220R carry, its the 4" but still the same frame they should work. I am happy with it as a range holster but i am looking for something that will do a better job and keeping it under cover, maybe a custom IWB.

The Serpa arrived yesterday. It is a tight fit, but the P220R fits in there just fine. You are right that it is not the best holster for concealment. I like the security of the holster and the ability to choose between paddle and belt slide.

My only negative thought on the Blackhawk is the "carbon fiber" aspect. I thought that, for the extra money, there would actually be carbon fiber on it. It appears to just be a sticker.

Good holster. Good price. Great gun. Great price.
