    Default Ammo Question...

I have a few friends who know I am crazy about firearms.

Every now & then they buy me ammo. I love my friends!

With my Wilson and a few other pistols I am very selective as to what ammo I will shoot.

The other stuff I just run through my Glocks as they will eat anything I feed them.

Right now I am looking at a box of Blazer 9mm Luger 115 Gr. FMJ.

I do not have a 9mm Glock (if you don't count the 9mm barrel for my G31).

On the other hand I DO have an XD9 sub.

Before heading to the range I thought I would ask for opinions on shooting this ammo through my XD.

    Thanks!

    Jailkeeper,

Is it the brass or aluminum casings? If they are the aluminum, my buddy and his wife both have an XD9-SC and they have had zero problems with the aluminum cased Blazers. I don't think they buy the brass versions so I can't comment on that.

    They are aluminumnumnum.

Never shot aluminum shells before & every time I see them I wonder about such things.

I shot a ton of those in .45. They were actually pretty hot loads on the chrono and ran fine in my Kimbers.

Havn't used them in 9mm or in an XD, but many in .38special and .45acp, no problems.

Thanks Jeff. Reckon if they run in a Kimber they'll run in an XD.

I'm planning to head to the range Saturday morning. I'll let you know the outcome.

I regularly shoot the Blazer brass out of my 9mm P7. It's actually reasonably clean shooting ( a lot cleaner than WWB) and in fact, is one of the few rounds that has a jacketed base ( lead not exposed to hot gases on the base of the bullet). I think it's good quality ammo and one of the best buys out there for range ammo.

The only problems I've heard of with the Blazer aluminum 9mm has been with some folks who tried to run them in MP5s and other subs on auto.

I've fired nearly every pistol caliber of the stuff and never had a problem in any of my handguns, steel or polymer.

Ive had some feed issues with the Alum. case. I use the brass religiously and have no problems at all. You cant beat the price that Walmart sells these for. Good range ammo in my book.
