    Default I went old school

Well I got bitten by the tacticool HD shotgun bug. Did a lot of research and looking around. Lots of them with more shit hanging on them than a christmas tree. No offense to anyone, it's your gun and you can do what you want with it. After looking around and fondling a bunch of stuff I realized I just didn't like them. So I went old school. Mossberg 835. Parkerized, wood stock. 24" barrel. Can pull double duty as HD or hunting depending on the choke. Less than $200. Doesn't look tacticool just a plain ole shotgun. I'll probably get a light for it....if I can find one that doesn't cost as much as the gun did.

I have been thinking of getting a wood stock set for my 590A1 to give it an old school look.

Got any pixtures of yours, I bet the park and wood look good together.

Can't do pictures, but I like the looks of the park and wood together. The 835 is very robust. 1" dia. barrel, pretty thick stock, but doesn't seem to be any heavier than any others. That damn tacticool fever is flaring up again as I am pricing mag extentions, slings and lights.

I seem to remember something about the 835 barrel not being able to shoot slugs. I think the barrel would say so though. So just double check that.

Yes it says No Slugs. I don't think I even own a slug, so that shouldn't be a problem.

I love wood myself. I have paid extra when I have bought my Remmy 7615, Savage .17 over the past year to get wood as opposed to plastic. I just like it better...
