    Default Pellet gun question(s)

I tried Google and found an ad for one of these that sold in 2006, nothing else, so I'll ask here.
My neighbor asked me to check on the value/worth of a pellet gun that he's considering selling. It's a Sheridan .20 caliber, CO2, single shot, F Series, stainless steel with a wooden stock.
I've never been a fan of CO2 guns but this one has a certain appeal to it, just the look of it. It's not in good condition as it sits but it could be a good looking gun with a refinish job. It's been neglected, but not beat. (hasn't been used as a club or to pound tent stakes.....). The wood and metal are straight, but the finish is just about gone, anything that can rust has rusted, and the stainless needs to be polished. It appears to function, as in nothing is seized up, it cocks and the trigger releases as it should.
He doesn't really want it, I have little to no interest in a CO2 gun, but if it's worth something I don't want it to let it go by the wayside. If it's worth little or nothing I might give him something for it, polish the steel, finish the stock and use it as a decoration, it can be refinished to a real nice looking piece. (Just what I need, another project).
Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Here are a few pictures of it:

The last picture shows the only place where the gun has any dings at all, with a little TLC that could be smoothed and polished.

page 420 of the Blue Book of Airguns 7th edition for Model F/FB lists 95% at $175, 90% at $130...there are different standards to add to the pricing like early production, left hand models, original box and manual, etc.

Don't know about the value, but I've got the blued, pump version and it shoots minute of fly @ 15yds, and minute of chuck head @ 30+yds.

It definitely has value. A quick search on gun broker turned up a few. They seem to go in the $100+ range.

Do a search for benjamin or sheridan owner's groups or forums. you should be able to find out exactly what you have, if it's rare or desirable, and about how much it's worth.

also, pellet guns are great for basement or garage shooting. or living room if your family/roommates will let you get away with it. .20 caliber pellets are a little harder to find, but they're available.

    Thanks for the help!
I'll get some pellets and CO2 to test it for functionality then give my neighbor a report. I suspect that it will be for sale sometime soon. Refinished or not will be up to him, function or lack thereof will be the biggest factor for pricing.

Get it cheap if you can, ammo is cheap. I'll bring my Gamo and join you indoors at Palmyra.

If it was a variable power pump gun I'd be on it like stink on shit but it's CO2 and I never cared much for them. 20 caliber is another thing I'm not too crazy about. I can get pellets at Shyda's for about $12.00/500 but I already have .177 pellets and BBs and several guns to shoot them. Nothing really good, or expensive, just Crosman and Daisy, but the Crosman guns are surprisingly accurate.
I'll take you up on the offer to shoot airguns at Palmyra sometime though.

BTW, +11 to rev214, -JD-, and bloomautomatic for the help.

Bulk packages of CO2 cartridges and .20 cal pellets are available at www.pyramydair.com. Nice selection for the .20s.
