Re: Front Sight Firearms Training
Bob, I had a long reply and then the website logged me off and it was all lost.
I give some short comments.
First, the courses can be very tiring if the weather is hot. Remember you're firing a lot. Are you in good physical condition and healthy?

Make sure you try a course before buying a membership. I think their courses are quite good but the traveling by plane I don't enjoy and it's expensive if you're going to do it two or three times a year. You should be able to get a 4 day course for about 500.00. They list at two grand but I paid 500.00.

Re: Front Sight Firearms Training
Good suggestion.
I got a CD in the mail from them. I liked their philisophy about educating the influential people in this country (lawmakers, etc.) about the benefits of a trained and armed citizenry to preserve the Second Amendment.
They're offering 4-day courses for $600 and 2-day courses for $300.
They're also offering two Legacy Lifetime memberships for $4900, including 4 free 4-day course certificates with each membership. I figured that if we only use the lifetime membership 4 times, the cost would be about $300 per course ($4900/16). After that it's free for life.
I wonder if they would let you apply the cost of a single course to a lifetime membership.

Re: Front Sight Firearms Training
They might. They are offering some memberships at better prices now. If you've got someone who's going with you that's better also.
If you go make sure you've got water or gatorade and food. There's not much you can get there except firearms accessories.
Did I say it gets hot even in October. Any specific questions. The actual physical facilities are great. Like the ranges and false buildings etc.
The 4 day defensive handgun concentrated on mostly on drawing and shooting. The drawing then became how fast can you draw and shoot.
I started getting very tired of drawing and shooting. However, the heat and my physical condition at the time basically did me in.

Re: Front Sight Firearms Training
Actually, those sound like great deals. If you've got someone who is going with you that doesn't sound bad. I might go again if I had a shooting partner.
My wife shoots for about 5 minutes and she's done.
Going by myself I found it to be more like traveling for work only harder.
I plan on taking some more courses like on the use of deadly force but I'll be going where I can drive.
Any specific questions I'll try to answer.

Re: Front Sight Firearms Training
I remember there was a lawsuit when I went in 2007. It looks like it's close to some finalization. It's probably best to just sign up for one class at a time. This way if it goes belly up you don't lose much. I had forgotten about the lawsuit. If anyone's going to go they best do some checking.
