Default Bank bombing in Oregon, cops injured

    http://www.koinlocal6.com/content/ne...ZIUy1wbRw.cspx

A bomb blasted through a West Coast Bank branch in Woodburn Friday evening.

It happened about 5:30 p.m. Nearby residents reported hearing a loud explosion. Moments later, police cars rolled up and ambulances lined up outside the branch, located next to I-5 on Newberg Highway 214.

Amid the confusion and chaos came reports of serious injuries. Police later confirmed more than one injury, in a statement that said, "Woodburn police, with the assisatance of FBI and an Oregon State Police Bomb Technician, were investigating a suspicious device at the West Coast Bank on Highway 214 east of Interstate 5. While officers were inthe area, the device detonated, resulting in serious injuries."

West Coast Bank CEO and President Bob Sznewajs says the explosive device was first spotted outside the bank by employees. But, says Snewajs, when law officers arrived they evacuated the bank branch, then brought the bomb inside it, where it exploded.

Highway 214 was closed in both directions east of I-5 toward downtown Woodburn. Nearby businesses were evacuated.

Earlier in the day, a nearby Wells Fargo branch had a police incident, after a reported bomb scare there, but any possible connections will be part of a police investigation involving the F.B.I., Marion County Deputies, Woodburn Police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

Not to be pessimistic... but expect more. Lots more. Weird times lay ahead for us.

Not an EOD guy, but why take the device indoors?

Be safe (and properly contain a blast).

Probably to contain the blast because they didn't have the time to do it propeerly.

I expect it to get worse too. Homegrown terrorism, or just a loner with too much time? I don't see why they would have touched/moved it. Bring in a robot to do it. None available? I think waiting to get one on scene would prove to be life saving. Hell, building one isn't that hard, I've wanted to for some time now. Basically a RC truck with shell removed, plant a wireless camera on it, and a way to deliver a payload(small charge). There ya go. Two guys still alive, able to spend the holidays with their families.

Well look at Greece, for the 7th day there's been rioting and protesters setting vehicles on fire. Today was the first I've seen anything on it, but it seems they've been protesting because of the poor state of their economy. Just waiting to see if it starts in the US.

I'll second that opinion. I have been wondering when it would start. It will get worse. Much worse. But it won't get really bad till the people of this country are really hurting or realize the sunshine the government has been blowing up there asses through the MSM is BS. Once they find out it will be getting much worse here financially people will resort to violence.

I feel bad that they would choose to strike at the lowly branch workers over this however. They had nothing to do with it. It is the higher ups and the politicians that are responsible. Eventually that is where peoples rage will be directed and that is when the federal government will clamp down on this nation like we have never seen.

I'm sure most can figure out the two possible outcomes that will result from that situation...........
