New Gov't regs re Yugo Zastava PAP?
Surplus City ad says these rifles may stop coming in due to government regulations. Anyone know of something that I'm not aware of ?

Re: New Gov't regs re Yugo Zastava PAP?
I have not heard anything. It may just be a ploy to sell guns. They are not lying since there is technically always a threat that the government may come up with new regulations that will ban their import. Purely speculation on my part, but I suspect thats what is going on here.

Maybe they are thinking of (or using) the looming UN treaty?

Maybe they are using that as an excuse, but the United States Senate voted to not join that treaty so I don't think it carries any power in the U.S.

Yes, but, as I understand it, this treaty threat never goes away. The next senate can vote for it...and it remains open-ended for some future assembly to do that. We cannot be controlled by an external force, but when we have a "president" who wants it and just may try EOing it, the gun sales will probably remain a little on the "better get it while I can" side. This "leader" can do any damned thing he wants. It is now a matter of record that he wouldn't be impeached no matter what he did.

My understanding is that it will not go away. But like I said in my first post, there is always a possibility of future government regulations, whether the UN treaty or some other action, and gun companies can up their sales by spreading panic with vague references that you may not be able to buy such and such gun soon. In other words I don't think they have anything concrete right now the way they may have had right after Sandy Hook and before the Senate vote last year.

it would not surprise me at all if the current administration along with the ATF and DOJ are scheming to find a way to restrict import of these rifles. i've known the guys at surplus city for well over ten years and have never known them to lie to generate sales.

Does anyone recall that Obama has imposed an embargo on Russia? That may have an effect on imported Russian weapons and ammo.
George,
So many guns, so little money.
