Need NRA courses
I am new to everything, although I did a little target shooting with my dad years ago. I read about a basic course in Langhorne, but I missed it. Are
any of these scheduled for '09? They mentioned trying out pistol types before buying one's own. I have been an NRA member for years, but never owned my own gun. I am getting concerned about home and personal protection, so would like to get started. Any advice gratefully accepted.

Re: Need NRA courses
Gunskills Training Group is about to get a class room in the Upper Black Eddy area of Bucks County. There we will teach NRA Basic courses and level two classes such as Introducton to Concealed Carry. Details will be up on our web site in a few weeks. Classes will start after the X-mass crazy time.
Visit www.gunskills.com or call us at 610.554.4581

Re: Need NRA courses
Check the training area.
Basic Pistol on Sat Dec 20 at LanghorneRodandGunClub.org (Around St. Mary's hospital)
First Steps Pistol on Jan 5 PM at LanghorneRodandGunClub.org (a good one if you know what kind of gun you want to shoot, or just want to "try it out" for less than 10 hrs)
(I run these two, and can email direct at Barry@jsholsters.com)
Also on Dec 20, Jason will be oding basic pistol at HellertownSportsmensassociation (Jason@jsholsters.com)
Female instructor (Donna) at Classic Pistol for three evening (one class) every month.
On demand training with me (time available) or with George Hancock at Wicensshootingrange.com (Doylestown area)

Re: Need NRA courses
I have to +1 Pacer's suggestions. I have taken classes with both Jason (Utah CCW) and Donna (Basic Pistol Safety Class). Both were great instructors. They were knowledgeable, interested, and happy to answer any questions the class had. If this says anything, I wouldn't have any hesitation in sending my family or friends to either of them for training.

Re: Need NRA courses
If you are looking for someplace close to try out different firearms, you might want to check out Ready Aim Fire. They are right off of 13 and Green Lane in Bristol. They have a wide selection of handguns you can try. Let me know how you make out.
Very smart idea to also get some training.
